Terms of Use
Who we are
Chow Hall is published by Riley Davis under the studio name RingTailApps.
Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old. If you're under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms.
Your account
An account is optional. If you create one, keep your sign-in details safe and tell us if you think someone else has accessed it. You can delete your account at any time in Settings.
Recipes are informational
Recipes, nutrition estimates, prices, cook times and tips are provided for general information and may contain errors. Nutrition and cost figures are estimates, not medical, dietary or financial advice.
- Food safety: cook meat, poultry, seafood and eggs to safe internal temperatures, store and reheat food properly, and use your own judgment in the kitchen. Take care with knives, heat and appliances.
- Allergies and diets: allergy and diet filters are a convenience, not a guarantee. Always read ingredient labels and check every ingredient yourself. Product formulations change, and cross-contact can happen. If you have a serious allergy or medical condition, follow your doctor's advice.
Shared lists and potlucks
Anything you put on a shared list or potluck is visible to the people who have its invite code or link. Only share codes with people you trust. Don't post anything unlawful, hateful or someone else's private information. The host can delete a potluck, which removes it for everyone.
Chow Hall Pro and subscriptions
- Some features need Chow Hall Pro, sold as an auto-renewing subscription (and, if offered, a one-time purchase) through Apple's App Store or Google Play.
- Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price and length unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account will be charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app doesn't cancel it. If a free trial is offered, any unused part ends when you buy a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Prices may change, and we'll give notice as the app stores require.
- Complimentary Pro granted by Chow Hall is personal, may be withdrawn, and has no cash value.
Acceptable use
Don't misuse the app or its servers: no reverse engineering where the law prohibits it, no scraping, no attempts to access other people's data, and no interfering with the service.
Our content
The app, its recipes, artwork and the raccoon mascot belong to us or our licensors. You may use them for your own personal, non-commercial cooking. Third-party photos are used under their own licenses.
Disclaimers and liability
Chow Hall is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of recipes, nutrition data or the app. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.
Ending use
You can stop using Chow Hall at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms. We may change or discontinue features, and we'll try to give notice of major changes.
Apple
If you downloaded Chow Hall from the App Store, Apple's Standard EULA also applies. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its support, and Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms.
Changes and law
We may update these terms. We'll change the date above and, for material changes, let you know in the app. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA, unless your local consumer law says otherwise.
