Chow Hall · Effective October 14, 2026

The short version. Chow Hall works without an account, and your meal plan stays on your phone. If you sign in, we store your email and a backup of your app data so you can restore it and share lists and potlucks. We don't show ads, we don't track you across apps or websites, and we never sell or share your data for advertising. You can delete your account and its data at any time from Settings.

Who we are

Chow Hall is published by Riley Davis under the studio name RingTailApps ("we", "us"). Contact: ringtailapps@gmail.com.

What stays on your device

Your meal plan, grocery list, pantry, staples, favorites, ratings, custom recipes, preferences (household size, allergies, diet and budget settings), reminders, theme, and chef points and badges are saved in the app's local storage on your device. We can't see this data unless you turn on cloud backup.

What we collect when you use cloud features

What we don't collect

No advertising IDs, no location, no contacts, no photos, no analytics or tracking SDKs, and no crash-reporting profiles. Health-related preferences such as allergies stay on your device unless you turn on backup, and even then they're used only to filter recipes for you.

Service providers

This website

ringtailapps.com uses no cookies, analytics or tracking, and our fonts are served from our own site. Our web host may keep standard server logs, such as IP address and time, briefly for security.

How we use data

Only to run the features you use: backup and restore, shared lists, potlucks, sign-in, and Pro access. We don't sell personal information or "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we don't use it for profiling.

Retention and deletion

We keep cloud data until you delete it or delete your account. In Chow Hall, go to Settings → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, email, backup, the lists you own, the potlucks you host, your memberships and your potluck sign-ups, and it clears the app's data on your device. Items you added to someone else's shared list stay on that list without your name. You can also email us to request deletion.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including the EU, the UK and California (CCPA/CPRA), you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, and object to or restrict its processing. We'll respond within 30 days and won't treat you differently for using these rights. EU/UK users: we process account data to provide the service you requested (contract), and you can complain to your local data-protection authority. Our providers may process data in the United States under appropriate safeguards.

Children

Chow Hall is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

Data is sent over HTTPS, and our database rules mean each person can read only their own data and the lists and potlucks they've joined. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a unique password.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for material changes, let you know in the app.
